This error is caused because there IS a Windows Registry entry with the current installed Resolve version. If you install that, you should not get the error. As an example, Resolve 16.2.5 was released today. The majority of users never run into such issues.Īlso note that if you get the error you describe, about a newer version being installed, that if you install a truly newer version, it should get past that error.
If you manually remove Resolve related files/folders, or use disk cleanup apps that delete said folders, or use other uninstall methods, you can run into issues like you are describing. There is generally no issue uninstalling Resolve on Windows, as long as you use the Windows Control Panel - Programs and Features panel to do the uninstall.
